About

Agile Optic GmbH was founded in 2019 to make customized high-quality optomechanical system accessible for a broad range of research groups and companies. We are an efficient partner to cooperate with, since our customers directly communicate with the developer - without any extra salesperson or customer advisor in between. Moreover, we work cost-efficient, because we do not rely on expensive marketing strategies and prestige projects, but on recommendations by our customers and partners.

Stephan Hannig

Stephan Hannig

Founder & CEO

Stephan studied Physics in Göttingen and Dortmund. Afterwards he joint Prof. Dr. Piet Schmidt´s group at Germany´s National Metrology Institute PTB in Braunschweig and gained experience in high precision laser setups and single ion spectroscopy. He received his PhD for the development and characterization of a transportable aluminum ion quantum logic optical clock setup from the Leibniz Universität Hannover. Subsequently, Stephan became head of the clock lab in the Hannover Institute of Technology (HITec) to concentrate on the development of compact and robust hardware for the next generation of optical clocks.
